We are glad to invite you to participate in the school-seminar with international participation “Pathomorphological diagnostics of melanocytic formations”, which will be held on September 21, 2017 in St. Petersburg on the basis of the Park Inn Pulkovskaya hotel.
The school-seminar will unite specialists engaged in the diagnosis and treatment of melanocytic formations on one platform. The event will become a place for the exchange of experience, obtaining new knowledge and organizing joint integrated efforts to achieve a common goal – early detection of malignant neoplasms and reducing the mortality rate from them. General pathomorphology, as well as dermatology and oncopathology are invited to participate. The expected number of participants of the school is about 100 specialists from all over Russia.
The seminar school is a practical course that includes theoretical and practical aspects of the diagnosis of melanocytic neoplasms. Special attention will be paid to the moments that cause the greatest difficulties in the practical work of a pathologist:
- differential diagnosis between sclerosing nevus and sclerosing melanoma;
- differential diagnosis between nevus and melanoma of individual (specific) localizations;
- differential diagnosis between BAP1-home and BAP1 melanoma;
- differential diagnosis between infant spitzoid melanoma and spitz nevus;
- differential diagnosis between sacral melanoma and sacral nevus;
- differential diagnosis between nevoid melanoma and normal nevus;
- Overview of the most common “diagnostic traps”.
The course includes a practical part, which provides for independent work with 100 cases of melanocytic formations, with which a practicing pathologist often meets in routine work. All drugs will be presented in the form of high-quality digital slides, accompanied by brief clinical information.
The theoretical part will be conducted with the participation of Professor G.Massi (Department of Pathology, Catholic University Medical School, Rome, Italy), who is a world-class expert and author of several books in this field. 25 cases out of 100 presented will be discussed in detail with the participation of Professor Massi.
The school – seminar with international participation “Pathomorphological diagnostics of melanocytic formations” is supported by the State Medical Institution “St. Petersburg Clinical Scientific and Practical Center for Specialized Types of Medical Care (oncological)”.
